About Us
Erik’s Story: The Reason This Firm Was Started
Not only did Erik face the unimaginable on the battlefield, but he tragically lost his mother because of the health impacts of a contaminated supplement from a Japanese pharma company. After years of life-altering sickness, she died the week after receiving her settlement. Because Erik wasn’t a dependent, the money was lost, and Erik was left with nothing but the loss of his mother.
Erik’s grit and life lessons continued to deepen when he was falsely accused of a crime while commanding the largest base in the Air Force Reserve. After being arrested without probable cause and being suspended from command, Erik faced an intense 9 month federal investigation and isolation from his family. This process derailed his career, tore his family apart, and left him financially devastated. He was innocent the whole time. The accusers were found “non credible”, their allegations determined to be “unsubstantiated” as there was “no probable cause” to prosecute. Erik sued those making the false allegations in civil court for defamation and won!
Wingman Legal was born because of Erik’s life experiences. He decided to defend other victims who had also been crushed by the abuse of power.
At Wingman Legal, we are passionate about holding perpetrators liable, especially when corporate negligence is involved. Our founder, Erik Aufderheide, takes it personally because of his experience losing his mother due to corporate negligence.
